NJ Attorney General Responds: Voters Have No Right To Primaries They Pay For

Last week, the Attorney General of New Jersey, Attorney General John J. Hoffman filed a motion to dismiss on behalf of the New Jersey Secretary of State Kim Guadagno.

The Attorney General’s motion includes the assertion that unaffiliated voters have no right to participate in the primary elections that they are compelled to fund. The suit, filed in New Jersey Federal Court, asserts that every voter has a right to participate in every meaningful stage of the election process, regardless of party affiliation.
